STEM Student Success at Ohio University Online
Join the experts from Elsevier and the Ohio University Libraries for this one-hour undergraduate crash course on how to prepare for a life as a STEM student. In this highly-interactive webinar, students will learn how to be discerning young researchers. The session will kick off with an exercise in understanding the difference between real and fake academic research, highlighting the key attributes students should be looking for in reading and using scientific content.
From there, students will be provided with foundational knowledge on how to effectively understand and distill information in peer-reviewed research, which can be a daunting task for the novice researcher.
Finally, session leaders will review some helpful study tips for students as they go along in their studies. Plenty of time will be devoted to audience questions, and instructors will provide only resources readily available to students through the Ohio University Libraries.
