Learning Management and Teaching Platforms In-Person

In this workshop, Subject Librarian for Education, Chris Guder, Library Support Specialist Michael Pistrui, and Kyle Rosenberger, Instructional Designer at the Office of Instructional Innovation, will share techniques for getting your course content to your students in learning management tools such as Blackboard and Top Hat.

This workshop is part of the Libraries' Alt-Textbooks Initiative, in which the Libraries seek to support the adoption of free or low-cost textbook alternatives. Participants in the Spring 2016 pilot of the initiative redesigned their courses and materials to help students in 23 different courses save $236,213 during the 2016-2017 academic year. Faculty interested in learning more about textbook alternatives can apply to join the Spring 2017 cohort and earn $250 for full attendance at the workshop series' six sessions and for committing to reducing the cost of course materials for students in at least one of their classes.
